Hello,

Welcome To My Web Site. My Name Is Michael Ray Trasso. Let Me Tell You About My Hobbies And Passion For Martial Arts. When I Was 5 Years Old My Father Decided To Enroll Me In A Martial Arts School. He Said I Was A Very Shy And Wanted To See If This Would Help Break My Shyness. It Did (a Little). After Looking Around A Few Weeks At Several Schools My Dad Decided On Rising Sun Martial Arts In Lyndhurst. In November 2000 Jerry Jones Opened A School (Jerry Jones Ultimate Martial Arts) In Nutley N.J. I Have Been Training Privately With Jerry Jones For 8 Yrs. And Attending Group Classes.

I Continue To Train In The Following Styles:

Jiu Jitsu - JiuJjitsu Is One Of The Oldest Japanese Martial Arts And Many Styles Have Derived Form Its Core. It Is A Great Combat Sport And Requires Good Physical Condition. The Idea Behind Jiu-Jitsu Is To Use The Attacker\'s Force Against Him. Jiu-Jitsu Is Descended From The Ancient Japanese Samurais And Is The Mother Of All Martial Arts. Takedowns, Joint Locks, Choke Holds, And Submission Wrestling Are The Tequniques I Practice.

Hapkido - Hapkido Includes A Vast Variety Of Arm And Leg Joint Locks, Weapon Techniques, Throw, Kick, Hit, And Nerve Pressure Techniques. Hapkido Is No Martial Sport But A Martial Art, Which Is Outstandingly Suitable For Self-defense.

Sambo - SAMBO Includes Techniques From Both Sport And Self-Defense SAMBO, But Uses Them In Different Ways. It Includes Techniques That Are Dangerous Notably Devastating Leg Locks. The Russian Military, Police, Special Crowd Control Units, Marines, And Others Have Employed Combat SAMBO For All Aspects Of Self-defense And Close Combat.

Kickboxing. Muay Thai Combines Western-style Boxing With Kicking, And Includes The Use Of Elbows And Knees.

Wrestling - Sport In Which Two Unarmed Opponents Grapple With One Another. The Object Is To Secure A Fall, I.e., Cause The Opponent To Lose Balance And Fall To The Floor, And Ultimately To Pin The Opponent’s Shoulders To The Floor, Through The Use Of Body Grips, Strength, And Ground Technique. 2004- I Will Be Wrestling For St. Mary\'s High School In Rutherford, N.J..

I Like The Ground Fighting Since 90% Of All Fights Wind Up On The Ground - Although 100% Start On Your Feet. Cross Training Is Extremely Important.

On 10/12/02 I Received My Black Belt In Freestyle Jiu Jitsu From Sensei Jones. I Have Known Him Since I Was 5yrs Old And He Is A Great Teacher. He Has Taught Me Many Things On And Off The Mat. I Am Very Proud To Have Had Him As A Teacher And Friend. This Is The Beginning Of My Quest To Learn Other Styles And Someday Travel Overseas To Explore The World Of Martial Arts. It Is Important To Learn From Others And Further My Martial Arts Education. I Am Currently Training Privately And Attending Group Classes With Mike Mrkulic (Royler Gracie Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt),& Jason Silverstein (All American Wrestler At Purdue).I Would Like To Teach And Have My Own School Someday. I Also Like Skateboarding, Wrestling, Baseball, Basketball And Playing Video Games. I Used To Play Piano,Trumpet ,and I Picked Up The Guitar Again.
